The Children’s Treatment Centre Celebrity Walk and Breakfast in 2008 set a new record by raising $191,700.00 with more than 1900 participants.
The outpouring of generosity from the community helped event organizers reach the impressive amount as canvassers reaped the benefits of hundreds throughout the Cornwall region who understand the importance of this beacon of hope for children who have been physically, emotionally or sexually abused.
Special Guest Speaker for the 2008 event was Mr. Serge LeClerc, M.L.A., Saskatchewan whose life story is a painful example of what can happen when a child falls through the cracks. Mr. Serge LeClerc, a New Brunswick native, spent most of his life either in jail or on the streets of Toronto, however, there was a silver lining. With one helping hand, Mr. Serge LeClerc turned his life around and is currently a Member of Legislative Assembly in Saskatchewan.
